This is a cover for 'Romeo and Juliet', a tragedy written by William Shakespeare.
The piece is designed as one of free, which together are a consistent set of book designs.
The graphic elements used in all of them are created out of my experiments with self-made letter patterns.
All these covers invite the viewer to reflect on their elements, since they designed not to be obvious.
This particular cover is made as a patchwork out of an alphabet designed by myself. I combined the letters into a word 'love' and arranged them in different positions, sizes and colours, which represents the dynamics of passion between Romeo and Juliet. Some of them are destroyed, just as the feeling between lovers in the tragedy.
